Concerned about a child

Duty and Advice are anticipating an unprecedented number of enquiries/ referrals in September 2020 as a result of Covid- 19.   Before contacting duty and advice you should consider if you have a serious safeguarding concern.

Where there is no risk of significant harm

If the child or young person is not at risk of being significantly harmed, an Early Help response may be more appropriate. You can get advice and support from the Early Help Hub in your area who will be able to think with you about the best agency to respond:

East: eastearlyhelp@leeds.gov.uk  0113 535 1899
West:  westearlyhelp@leeds.gov.uk  0113 535 1924
South:  southearlyhelp@leeds.gov.uk  0113 535 0185

Where there are concerns of significant harm

  • During office hours (9:00am-5:00pm)
  • The Duty and Advice Team 0113 376 0336 (option 3)
  • Out of office hours (evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
