Course information

Start Times

Start times may vary, please see the course description for actual start time. Participants should arrive at the venue 15 minutes before the course start time to be sat and ready to start at the stated time.

Late arrival / early departure

We understand that unavoidable circumstances may mean that a participant is late for a course or needs to leave early. If you know in advance that this may be an issue for you please contact a member of the LSCP Training Section (0113 3950297) to discuss. The LSCP Training Section and the trainers have the right to refuse a place to a participant if they will miss a significant section of the session. If a participant is held up on the way to a course it would be appreciated if they could contact the LSCP Training Section to inform them, who will in turn inform the trainers.

Signing In

Participants are required to sign the sheet provided at the start of a course. Failure to do so may result in a participant not being given a certificate and being charged for non-attendance. If a participants name does not appear on the sheet the trainer has the right to request that the person does not stay for the course, or that the participant shows proof of their place (confirmation email).

Certificates

All participants on LSCP courses will receive a Certificate of Attendance, however the trainer reserves the right not to give certificates to people who do not attend for a full day, or are deemed not to have fully participated in the session.

Evaluation

Participants will be given an opportunity to evaluate a course at the end of a session. This information will be used to inform future training, including updating materials, changing course content and venue choice. In addition, participants will be sent a Post Evaluation form three months after the course to enable you and us to gauge learning impact. This should be completed with your line manager within supervision.

Non-attendance

From April 2018 all delegates who fail to inform the LSCP of non-attendance at training or events will be charged.
Charging for non-attendance will be:

£50 for all sessions (including training, masterclasses, launches, learning events etc...)
Light Bites/Briefings will be charged at £25 per session up to a maximum of £50 per day.
Non-attendance at conferences will require payment of the full conference fee.
All delegates will be required to sign in with their own signature on the register on the day of the session as proof of attendance. Failure to sign in could result in a charge being made to their agency. If someone is sent in replacement they must sign in against the name of the person they are replacing (if the register has not been updated) and make a clear note that they are a replacement on the register.

Please note that if a service is in exception which prevents delegates from attending they will not be charged for non-attendance, but the LSCP must still be informed within one working day.

Refreshments / Lunch

In order to allow the LSCP to provide free places on courses we do not provide lunch for participants. Lunch is available to order at Shine from their cafe, and trainers will inform participants of local facilities at the start of a day. Participants are also welcome to bring their own lunch. The LSCP will provide tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day on all courses.

Additional Learning Requirements

Should you have any additional requirements which would make your learning and participation on a course better please inform us of this on your application. We will make every effort to meet these needs, and if this is not possible we will contact you to discuss.

Course materials

All participants will be sent the course materials (pre-reading and participant pack) by email with their confirmation (if applicable to their course). It is the responsibility of participants to print the participant pack and bring it with them to the course – trainers will not bring spare copies. Please ensure you take time to complete the pre-reading prior to the event to that ensure you are able to fully participate.
