Recognising and Responding to Neglect

This course will help participants to understand Neglect, recognise the signs and indicators and identify actions that could be taken. This includes assessment and challenge.

Candidates should have attended the Introduction to Working Together or their own in-house introduction training.
 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course participants should have:

  • Understanding of the signs and indicators of neglect
  • Awareness of the effect that neglect can have on children and young people in both the short and long-term
  • Insight into some of the contributing factors to neglect
  • The importance of workers recognising, challenging and responding to neglect early
  • An opportunity to look at SMART planning and early help in cases of neglect

The LSCP training is free to LSCP partner agencies who contribute to the training pool and Third sector / not-for profit agencies who have an annual turnover of less than £250k. There will be a charge for all Private organisations. All delegates will be charged £50 for non-attendance.
