Introduction to Child Sexual Exploitation

Overview

This presentation is a brief introduction to Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE). CSE can be a complex issue and it is recommended that for staff groups who work directly with children and young people, practitioners and professionals undertake further reading around the subject.

This presentation includes:

  • The definition of CSE
  • Common models of grooming and exploitation
  • The signs to look for
  • The importance of sharing intelligence
  • What to do if you have a concern about a child.

Pre-requisites

It is important that anyone delivering this session in-house ensures that all participants have completed Introduction to Safeguarding Children and Young People (or another introductory level safeguarding course relevant to their role) first. 

Charging

There is currently no charge for access to this in-house briefing.

Delivery method

This briefing will need to be delivered in-house by someone within your own agency by using the PowerPoint and notes provided by the LSCP.
