Businesses

Leeds is well known for its vibrant daytime, evening and night-time economy, which brings with it many places for children, young people and families to enjoy a range of entertainment, food, cinemas, music and shopping.

Businesses that provide these services also have a responsibility to protect anyone that uses their premises by having safeguarding policies in place. The policy should clearly describe what they do if they have concerns about the safety and wellbeing of children and young people who use their services.

This section provides businesses with information to help them meet their safeguarding responsibilities including:

  • how they can access relevant training for their staff,
  • what arrangements they should have in place to protect children and young people
  • how to raise safeguarding concerns.

We encourage all businesses to explore this information and reflect on what they can put in place to protect children and young people from harm.

Child Friendly Leeds
