We bid farewell to Jasvinder Sanghera who has provided independent scrutiny and challenge of the Leeds safeguarding arrangements for four years. Her support and leadership have helped steer the safeguarding partnership towards more robust safeguarding arrangements across the city. We wish Jasvinder all the best for the future.
On behalf of the LSCP Executive we are delighted to announce the appointment of David Derbyshire to the Partnership as our new Independent Scrutineer. David is an experienced senior manager with extensive knowledge of safeguarding guidance and has significant experience in ensuring public and voluntary sector organisations achieve effective safeguarding assurance.
The role of the Independent Scrutineer is to carry out the independent scrutiny function as set out in Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023. The Independent Scrutineer will provide the critical challenge and appraisal of the multi-agency safeguarding partnership arrangements and will consider how effectively the arrangements are working for children and families as well as for practitioners.
David will commence his role at the end of September 2023.
